An access log is a complete list of all the files which were accessed by the visitors of a particular site. Any file which was requested for some reason shall be listed, so if you have a single webpage with 3 embedded images, one video and one embedded text file, for instance, the access log shall contain a total of six entries - one for any of the 6 files that were accessed when the site visitor opened the page. A log normally contains the file name and path, the date, in addition to the visitor’s OS, web browser and IP address. In some cases you can also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The information which an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format.
